Our response to the Scottish Government consultation on proposed changes to Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) requirements on registration

In April 2025, we responded to the Scottish Social Services Council’s (SSSC) consultation on ‘New Registered Groups’, focusing on the proposed inclusion of adult day care service employees on the Register. Our response on this Scottish Government consultation reflects what we previously shared with the SSC.

As a provider of skills-development services for neurodivergent adults, we support this inclusion in principle as an important step toward establishing parity between non-residential and residential or support-at-home care. However, we believe it is vital that the Scottish Government provides the sector with clear guidance and dedicated financial assistance to address the qualification costs, administrative burdens and staffing impacts of these proposed thresholds.
