The ALLIANCE Annual Conference 2025

On Wednesday 30th April we attended the ALLIANCE Annual Conference ’25.

Sam King (Director of Services), Kate Clement (Director of People and Engagement), Louise Storie (Head of Connect), and Stephen Caulfield (Policy Lead) had engaging conversations with a whole host of care and health stakeholders who shared our interest in delivering neuro-inclusive practice and who, in many cases, had direct professional and personal connections with neurodivergence.

Making a case on the importance of greater neuro-inclusion in social care and society is fundamental to what we do at Donaldson’s. We were greatly encouraged by the interest shown in our services (Wellbeing, Adult, and education) as well as our training, advice and consultancy, and influencing functions.

Some highlights from the day include:

  • Your health matters: Building a fairer society, delivered by renowned Professor, Sir Michael Marmot
  • A range of break-out workshops – including on Place, Human Rights, and Impact
  • Poetry from Nuala Watt, a Scottish (and neurodivergent) poet whose work speaks to her experiences as a disabled person and a mother
  • Our sensory resources, which were well received by all!

Many thanks to Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland’s team for, once again, putting on a terrific conference.
