Head of Service 

 

Location: Linlithgow, on-site
Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week (Monday–Friday, typically 8am–5pm)
Salary: circa £55,000 

 

Are you ready to lead and shape services that make a real difference?  

We are seeking a driven and proactive Head of Service to provide senior leadership across Donaldsons Adult and Wellbeing Services. This is a pivotal role with overall accountability for ensuring our services are safe, compliant, high-quality and truly person-centred, with a strong focus on excellence in practice and continuous improvement. 

Acting as the Registered Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day delivery of our Care Inspectorate registered services, Gate, Treehouse and Vibe, ensuring positive outcomes for the neurodivergent people we support and embedding co-production at the heart of service design and delivery. 

This role requires a leader who is forward-thinking, adaptable and confident in responding to complexity. You will bring strong safeguarding knowledge and experience alongside the ability to balance hands-on operational leadership with strategic oversight to continuously improve services and maximise impact.

Learning and Wellbeing Practitioners

 

Location: Linlithgow, West Lothian

Hours: Full time & Part Time Term time, permanent contracts available 

 

LWP1 – Permanent 32.5 hours per week (1.0 FTE), Monday to Thursday, between 8:30am and 4:30pm and 8:30am and 1:00pm on Friday 

Salary: £22,481.63 per annum (£14.96 per hour) 

LWP2 – Permanent 26 hours per week (0.8 FTE), Monday to Thursdaybetween 8:30am and 4:30pm and 8:30am and 1:00pm on Friday 

Salary: £17,985.30 per annum (£14.96 per hour) 

 

We are looking to recruit proactive, empathetic and flexible Learning and Wellbeing Practitioners to join our Sensational Learning Centre (a grant aided special school for neurodivergent children with complex additional support needs) on a term time basis.

Joining Donaldson’s as a Learning and Wellbeing Practitioner offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our supportive and dynamic school community, with a focus on high-quality teaching and learning.

You will work collaboratively to create a motivating and safe learning environment which takes account of individual pupil needs and ensures the highest quality of support and safeguarding standards.

Experience of working with individuals with additional support needs, good understanding of safeguarding and commitment to Donaldsons’ values and ethos are essential. You will be proficient in reading and writing (and hold National 4 or equivalent in English and Maths), be a confident communicator, and able to respond flexibly to changing circumstances while providing structured and consistent support that needs individual support needs.

You will align with our purpose, values and attributes of being professional, dependable, collaborative, curious and adaptable and if you are able use and/or understand BSL, that is a bonus!

Fixed Term Teacher

 

Location: Linlithgow, West Lothian

Hours: Fixed Term, Full time Term time

35 hours per week (1.0 FTE), Monday to Thursday, between 8:30am and 4:30pm and 8:30am and 1:00pm on Friday

Salary: £33,594 – £50,589 pro rate, per annum

The Donaldson Trust is Scotland’s National Body for Neurodiversity, providing a range of services for neurodivergent children, young people and adults. This role is based within the Sensational Learning Centre, our grant-aided special school supporting pupils with complex additional support needs. 

We are seeking to appoint a full-time (1.0 FTE) teacher on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and forward-thinking school community where high-quality teaching, inclusive practice and pupil wellbeing are at the heart of everything we do. 

About the role 

You will: 

  • Deliver high-quality learning, teaching and assessment tailored to pupils with additional support needs 
  • Plan and adapt engaging learning experiences that meet individual needs and promote progress 
  • Create a safe, inclusive and motivating learning environment 
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and the ongoing development of The Donaldson Trust 

A strong understanding of safeguarding and a demonstrable commitment to working with neurodivergent children and young people are essential. 

Requirements 

  • GTCS registration 
  • PVG Scheme membership (or willingness to obtain) for regulated work with children and adults
