GTCS-Registered Home Economics Tutor
Location: Linlithgow, West Lothian
Hours: 6.5 hours per week – Monday or Tuesday
Tutors will be engaged on a self-employed basis.

Do you enjoy adapting your approach to meet the needs of young people and helping them build confidence, curiosity and engagement in home economics?

We are seeking a part-time Home Economics Tutor to join our team at Donaldson’s on a temporary basis. This is an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality, personalised science tuition within our Sensational Learning Centre – a grant-aided special school supporting children and young people with complex additional support needs.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver tailored 1:1 and small group home economics tuition across BGE and the Senior Phase
- Plan and adapt learning in line with Curriculum for Excellence and Qualification Scotland requirements
- Assess and track learner progress, using this to inform next steps
- Support learners with additional support needs, including neurodivergent pupils
- Foster a safe, inclusive and motivating learning environment
- Prepare pupils for assessments and coursework, where appropriate
- Maintain high standards of health & safety within practical science environments
- Uphold GTCS Professional Standards and Code of Conduct
About You
You will have:
- Full GTCS registration in Home Economics (essential)
- Experience supporting children and young people with additional support needs
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to adapt teaching for individual learners
- A commitment to inclusive, person-centred practice
You will be:

Adult Wellbeing Practitioner
Location: Linlithgow, West Lothian
Hours: Permanent, Full time role, 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Salary: FTE £25,276 per annum (£14.96 per hour equivalent)
Are you an experienced Adult Practitioner? Are you passionate in supporting independence and positive wellbeing of others?
If yes, then we have the perfect role for you!
We are looking to appoint a permanent, full time Wellbeing Practitioner.
We are keen to recruit as soon as possible, so please apply early, as we will be holding interviews throughout the application window and may close the vacancy early.
Our core service operating hours are 8:30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, with our full time maximum working week of 32.5 hours.
You will have proven experience supporting neurodivergent adults with individualised needs and if you have an SVQ L3 in Social Services and Healthcare that’s a bonus!
You will provide calm, attuned support that is responsive to each supported person’s sensory profile and be confident in working one to one with each person we support. You will also support with personal and intimate care needs and safe administration of medication where required. A strong understanding of safeguarding, and working knowledge of the Health and Social Standards and the Scottish Social Services Council Codes of Practice are essential.
You will align with our purpose, values and attributes of being professional, dependable, collaborative, curious and adaptable and if you are able use and/or understand Makaton, then that is a bonus!
