Known as Billy.
Billy arrived at Donaldson’s in February 2016 as the ‘Senior Youth Worker – Transitions’. He co-designed #JunX10n service as he was developing a Transitions service for Donaldson’s School.
With #JunX01n quickly becoming a service in its own right. Billy’s job changed to “Skills Development Lead” as he started to focus on building the service model and team.
Billy has 20 years of experience in Health & Social Care having previously worked for Dumfries & Galloway Integrated Substance Service, Youth Justice and NHS’s Building Healthy Communities. In his previous 10 years of employment Billy worked for Aberlour Childcare Trust as the manager of their “Futures” service in Dumfries & Galloway where he used a person centred planning approach towards the young people the service supported.
Billy is a trained person centred practitioner who uses graphic recording to allow young people and families to communicate their stories, dreams, fears and skills with a view to building a plan to move them forward in their individual transitions.
Billy is extremely passionate about supporting young people to be all that they can be and to have their voices heard in the process. He is a creative and innovative thinker who ensures that the service remains positive and has quality at the forefront of its delivery.
Billy had taken on the role as Personalisation Manager developing quality frameworks for the school and #JunX10n service this past year; he has now taken back leadership of #JunX10n where he leads on the implementation of the frameworks within the service.
