Lipreading Classes

Donaldson's understands the difficulties and frustration many adults suffering from hearing loss may face when trying to communicate with others.  Lipreading can help you to communicate more easily and most of all help you to regain your confidence.

Donaldson's lipreading classes are delivered by Joyce Kennedy, a member of the Association of Teachers of Lipreading to Adults (ATLA), in an informal and friendly setting within our modern acoustically treated classrooms.

We run a programme of classes as follows:

• Lipreading for Beginners*
  

This class is for any adults who have never been on a lipreading course before. Learn to see and recognise some of the speech you cannot hear.

* We hope to be holding Lipreading for Beginners classes after summer, if you are interested in applying for this course then please contact us or if you would like to be sent information once the new programme of training courses becomes available, please sign up to receive our 'I'm interested in Donaldson's training courses' newsletter.

• Intermediate Lipreading

This class furthers the skills, knowledge and tactics learnt by students who have already taken a beginners course.

We are now taking bookings for the new Lip-Reading training course running from:

Thursday 26 April 2012 to 28 June 2012
5.30pm to 7.30pm
£50 for a 10 week course

If you are interested in applying for the Intermediate Lipreading course then please complete and return the application form to us.

Both the above courses are delivered over 10 weeks but do not run during school holidays. Each weekly class runs for 2 hours.

The fee is £50 for the each 10 week course but ILA funding applies should applicants be eligible. (see Training Courses page for more information).
