Donaldson’s School is The Donaldson Trust’s Education Service based in Linlithgow. After a period of development it had become clear that the Trusts focus should be firmly on supporting the challenging crossroads which young people face when they transition from nursery to primary, primary to secondary and from school onwards when they move into adulthood.
We are a Grant Aided Special School (GASS) providing an individualised focussed education to differently-abled children and young people aged 5-18 whose main barriers to learning are communication difficulties arising from various additional support needs such as Autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, deafness, hard of hearing and language disorders.
We value all forms of inclusive communication therefore have specific expertise in working with the challenges presented by these disorders.
The school philosophy is based upon a commitment to Person Centred Planning (PCP) and a truly person centred approach.
We also want pupils to leave the school with a pride in their independence and their understanding of the modern world. Alongside PCP, pupils can expect to take part in learning experiences which are true to life and help them develop skills and approaches to thrive in today’s world.
