Donaldson's is Scotland's national school for pupils who are deaf or have communication difficulties.
The Lodge is divided into three homely and comfortable flats in which pupils live in family-style groups of similar age, development and interests, giving them a feeling of belonging.
Each bedroom is single occupancy with its own bathroom and gives pupils their own private space. The rooms have a deaf friendly door bell system, lockable furniture and electronic locks activated by a personal pass card system. To view a typical bedroom in detail visit our virtual tour.
Aiming to be a 'home from home' for everyone who lives in, each flat has a modern and comfortable living room including books, games, HDTV with Sky and Freeview, DVDs and computers supported by our inbuilt Power Loop System. Residents can keep in touch with friends and family by email and webcam, or through their own personal Uniphone in their room.
The kitchen in each flat is a great meeting point and is where pupils have breakfast and tea or can make their own drinks and snacks.
"The accommodation provided for the children/young people was of an extremely high standard and very innovative use had been made of technology to provide an environment that met their needs and contributed to a very positive experience"
Care Commission Inspection, October 2008
