Donaldson's is Scotland's national school for pupils who are deaf or have communication difficulties.
Linlithgow is well positioned within Scotland with easy access by car or train from all major towns within the central belt. By car, the school is approximately 35 minutes from Edinburgh; 45 minutes from Glasgow; 25 minutes from Stirling; and 20 minutes from Livingston.
The easiest way to travel to Linlithgow by car is via the M9
motorway. Take
Junction 3 if you are travelling North (e.g. from Edinburgh) or
Junction 4 if you
are travelling South (e.g. from Stirling).
The school is situated on a hill at the very top of Preston Road; 5 minutes by car from the town centre and approximately a 20 minute walk up hill from the train station. Please see the adjacent links for public transport information.
To get to the school by foot or by car travel West through the town centre along the High Street. The junction for Preston Road is opposite the West Port Hotel (signed Donaldson's School). Follow Preston Road up the steep hill, past St Josephs Primary and we are further up the hill on your right hand side.
Linlithgow has its own train station which is on the main Glasgow to Edinburgh line. During weekdays at daytime s trains stop here 2 times each hour. There are also regular services to Stirling, Dunblane, Perth and further afield. Please see the link on the right for Scotrail.
