about our school
Every child deserves to learn in an environment which not only nurtures them, but which is tailored to their age, needs and abilities. Our school has been designed to do just that as well as putting the very specific needs of our pupils at the forefront.
We operate in a happy, friendly, stimulating environment, where children feel safe, secure and valued. The design of the school building including its layout and colour coding supports this aim.
Throughout the school the very latest technologies are used to provide the best possible methods of communication to meet individual needs, including spoken and written English, British Sign Language (BSL) and Signed Supported English (SSE). Our team of specialist teachers and therapists work cooperatively with every pupil preparing Individual Education Plans and communication profiles to ensure optimum support for the individual.
We believe education is more than just exams. Donaldson's empowers pupils to enable them to develop independent living skills and the confidence to transition from the school into further education or employment.
