Donaldson's is Scotland's national school for pupils who are deaf or have communication difficulties.
VACANCIES
Donaldson's provides an environment of inclusive communication (English and British Sign Language). Some pupils may have additional needs.
Knowledge of sign language and experience of SEBD and/ or ASD would be advantageous for our posts, although not essential as training in these areas can be provided if required.
We would hope that the successful post holders would start in the week commencing Monday 6th August, for training purposes.

CLASSROOM ASSISTANTS

£13,688.09 to £14,785.54
We require a number of Classroom Assistants to become members of small classroom teams.
All of our positions require previous Classroom Assistant or equivalent experience & skills gained in a special needs environment, alongside either holding or working towards a qualification in a child-related area.
One of our posts specifically requires the skills of someone who has worked with and cared for children (ages 12+) and/ or vulnerable adults who have additional support needs alongside Autism Spectrum Disorder and who can display challenging behaviours. Having prior experience of physical intervention/ risk management techniques, and experience of personal care with this specific client group is essential, while being epilepsy trained is desirable.

NURSERY NURSE

Pro rata of Scale Points 18-24 plus Special Education Needs (SEN) Allowance
£16,075.93 to £18,734.37
We require an individual to join our Nursery Team who holds a Scottish Childcare and Education Board (SCEB) Certificate, HNC in Childcare, or SVQIII or NVQIII equivalent.
Donaldson's Nursery caters predominantly for mainstream pupils with the capacity, however, to support children with additional needs.
You should already be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council, or be committed to doing so within 6 months of taking up the post. If you are conditionally registered, you must be currently undertaking qualifications necessary to achieve full registration.
